![]() *We tease Disneyland fans about the wee Sleeping Beauty Castle, the park’s icon. But the Disneyland scenes are jam-packed. Rooms in Anaheim are smaller than their Florida counterparts in, say, “it’s a small world,” although the ride lengths seem longer. The scale of Disneyland attractions is notable. *Just like the hallways of elementary school, it all seemed bigger when I was a kid. *Most of my decades-old Disneyland memories have faded, but I do recall watching the Matterhorn cars dart in and out of the mountainside back in the day and being freaked out by the underwater ride, now called Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. It was colorful and intriguing, despite static animatronics. Mike & Sully to the Rescue, we rode tiny taxis amid panicked monsters who spot a human child. At Disneyland, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey featured marionettes, donkeys, Monstro the whale and “When You Wish Upon a Star.” In Monsters Inc. *A few low-key dark rides were new to me. ![]()
